My Many Colored Days

I was reading this to one of my students today and I remembered how much I love this book!  We have a lot of Dr. Seuss in the classroom because of the rhyme.  But this one .... each time that I read it I relate to a different color and different mood/feeling.  There are days when I feel oh so orange, just excited and happy.  But then there are my black bear days.  I think I scared one of my students today when I read it, because I gave a great big bear growl!  In the past I have had my share of purple days.  It's just great to know "that it all turns out all right you see, and I go back to being me!"

  1. Hello! The Dr. Seuss book really caught my attention because I thought I had them all. The book will help me to teach students about mood/feelings. It is very relevant that students are in tune with their feelings early on in life.

  2. I agree that we need to get them expressing their feelings. Kids need to understand what that emotion is before we can really expect them to control it! Another great book is "The Way I Feel" by Janan Cain. The colors and drawings are great ... a bit busier, but wonderful!

  3. I love your book choice! I am a huge Dr Seuss fan. I often use colors to express my feelings to children in my program. I encourage them to do the same. We learn colors, a way to express ourselves, and build that wonderful vocabulary using our words. Don't you feel colors can and have changed the world? I guess a time and place for everything!
